measure in children's choirs

This weekend, Katie and I visited the new Pittsburgh Mills mall on 28-N, saw Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and read the first 23 chapters of the new Harry Potter.

Although I'm sure we didn't enjoy it as much as Brian Gray, and although we both had a little beef with it, I think both of us enjoyed the reimagining of Charlie. We saw Charlie at the new Mills mall, which has a nice theater, but was not stellar in terms of shopping. We also saw a children's choir there, who sang "Seasons of Love" while we ate at the food court. It was pretty excruciating.

I've been reading Harry Potter out loud to Katie, so we're getting through it a bit slower than usual, but it's nice. We spent all day Sunday in our pajamas, reading, only to break for some food and some Simpsons.

So we're going to Barnes & Noble on Saturday to purchase the new Harry Potter book (I considered going to the midnight release party thing on Friday night, but decided not to for a plethora of reasons). I park the car on Bartlett, and we begin walking toward Murray when we start to feel some drops of rain. We head back to the car and pick up two umbrellas. As we walk down Murray (we're probably midway between Darlington and Bartlett) when we both suddenly hear this loud pounding sound behind us. We turn around and see that is pouring rain about one block behind us. "That's weird," Katie says. "It's raining right there." Yeah, I thought. That is weird. At which point, we both realized that "right there" was getting closer. The heavy rain was moving along the sidewalk at a pace that we could see, and it was going to be right on top of us in about two seconds. We both opened our umbrellas simultaneously, right as the rain hit us. It was like something out of The Day After Tomorrow. Except, because the entire Earth wasn't freezing up, it was really cool. I've never seen rain move like that before.

I should get to work now so I can go home and finish Harry Potter tonight and ruin it for Brian Gray.
