what's the frequency, tasse?
The end of the week nears, and the weekend will be a nice respite, I think, for the busy two weeks I've had here at TerraSim. With two trade shows within three weeks, we were churning out the butter in record time. Next week should be a bit less hectic.
Speaking of employment, City Theatre called Katie this week to let her know they needed someone to help in the box office! Her days of slowly going insane at home will soon be over!
Today's short news and reactions update:
London continues to be mired with bad news. China inches toward...something. And more partisan brouhaha and liberal outrage (and not even about Rove or Roberts!)
Dan Tasse thinks I'm a tool, and he's somewhat right. Here's the catch: I don't really listen to music. I listen to NPR in the car, but I'll try my best.
Songs for a New World (6 current "favorites"):
1. "One Hand in My Pocket" - Alanis; I heard this this week on Rock Star: INXS, and it reaffirmed the fact that I like Alanis more than I should. It's better than "Ironic" fo sho.
2. "Louder than Words" from Tick, Tick...Boom!; this song's been floating through my head far too often in the past two weeks, although I probably haven't heard it for a few months now.
3. "Mahna Mahna" from the Muppets; Katie sings this all the time. MAHNA MAHNA! Do do, de do do.
4. "Katamari Damacy" from Katamari Damacy; Na...na na na na na na na, ne na na na na naaa.
5. "1 Angry Dwarf and 200 Solemn Faces" - Ben Folds Five; good opening track on the BFF album I've listened to most recently. I'm starting to stretch here. I hope you appreciate this.
6. "Pure Imagination" from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory; seeing the new Charlie made me think of this song, which is so perfect in the original movie that I want to sing it in my own candy factory to a bunch of bratty kids.
Golden Oldies (6 all-time "flavor-ites")
1. "She's an Angel" - TMBG; I'm going to limit myself to one TMBG song, and I choose this one. Because it makes me think of Katie and because it's a damn good simple song.
2. "Living on a Prayer" - Bon Jovi; this song always makes me want to sing at the top of my lungs and dance around wildly. Anything that does that belongs on this list.
3. "Rhapsody in Blue" - Gershwin; you cannot feel anything but awe when listening to this (played right, that is, not by some 4th-grader learning the piano)
4. "The Origin of Love" from Hedwig and the Angry Inch; another song that makes me sing along but also sometimes makes me cry. "Tear Me Down" is such a strong opening number, and then this just blows it away.
5. "Pisco Bandito" - Moxy Früvous; I really couldn't let this list not include a Früvous song, and this song is the catchiest and most fun to listen to. I included two slower songs before this, which is why this song isn't "Fly"
6. "Falling for You" - Weezer; I'm not even a huge Weezer fan, but this song just does it for me. In a good way.
So there you go. I've trudged through 12 torturous tracks of ill fame and we've arrived here.
I'm considering starting a blog with things to do in Pittsburgh each week, buying an actual domain for it, and running Google AdSense on it to cover the costs. Is this worth it? Or is it a pipe dream? Let me know, dear readers.
In the meantime, that little red arrow in the upper right tells me that my copy of Firefox has critical updates awaitin'

do it.
See, I's just joshin' with ya. I'd think you'd be the last sort of person who would do one of these little internet music "OMG LOL I LOVE NSYNC SO MUCH! OMFG ROFL STFU!" sort of things... but hey, you're the first to respond, congrats :) Hurray, we're both tools!
As for the Google thing, if you've got the energy to do it, give it a shot. Worst case, you lose the cost of a domain for a year (what's that, $10? Or am I incredibly naive?)
