Erie

Katie and I went up to Erie this past Friday and Saturday. There was no particular reason; Katie just wanted to get out of Pittsburgh and I shared the sentiment, so when I got home from work on Friday, I picked her up and just kept driving north.

The pictures are still on her camera, but they'll be up on my flickr page soon enough (let me know if you want access to it - most of the pictures are friends/family protected).

Anyhoo, Erie's only about 2 hours away, but we took longer than that going and returning because we stopped at Grove City both times. Katie bought a Gap jacket and a caramel apple on the way up, and I got Robo Rally (at 33% off!) and a caramel apple on the way back.

In Erie, we visited a beach on Presque Isle, saw the Perry Monument, went on a boat with Captain Norman, and stayed at a less than superb "Super" Motel 8. Oh, and we also played mini golf. And ate at a place called Smuggler's Wharf. All in all, it was a very fun time indeed. It was nice to get away.

There may have been bugs in the motel, though. I have either a bug bite or a pimple on my butt, and it hurts to sit down. This is unfortunate, as I sit down for most of the day.

I ate at Smuggler's Wharf! It's right on the water, right? In "downtown" Erie?
